ENGLISH LAKE DISTRICT TOUR
June 19-26, 2010
COMPASS POINTS:
SETTING DIRECTION FOR A FUTURE LIFE

PHOTO SLIDESHOW
Update 19 May, 2010. This trip is full, but we are happy to accept applications for the waiting list.
We are presently looking for couples to round out
the balance
on this trip. We still encourage those traveling
solo to apply for the waiting list, as we will open up remaining
places for singles the week of April 5th.
Join David Whyte and Leslie Cotter in a small intimate group of 18 for a week long sojourn in an
ancient village just outside the rugged beauties of the English Lake District. The accommodation is a manor house nestled in the
foothills of the North Pennines, one of 40 classified areas of outstanding natural beauty in England and Wales. This will be a time to deepen your
commitment to the direction your professional or artistic life is taking, or loose it toward a new direction. For
further inspiration we will spend every afternoon amid the mountains and lakes that surround us, walking the
hills and arriving at small pubs and hostelries for the evening meal.
David will lead the morning sessions, bringing poetry to bear on the insights he has gained through twenty years
of examining the necessities of work, career and relationship. Leslie brings her unique perspective as a life coach and physician and will be available for informal individual coaching sessions at the manor house and on the walks.
Please download the brochure, below, for more information, or contact Julie by telephone 360.221.1324 or e-mail.
Cost: $3300, if all payments made by check or money order. If any or all payments are made by credit card, there is a supplemental charge of $100, bringing the total to $3400.
To apply for the trip, please download and complete the application and health & fitness questionnaire and mail them, together with the $900 deposit, to Julie Quiring, Many Rivers, PO Box 868, Langley, WA 98260

EASTER MORNING IN WALES
A garden inside me, unknown, secret,
neglected for years,
the layers of its soil deep and thick.
Trees in the corners with branching arms
and the tangled briars like broken nets.
Sunrise through the misted orchard,
morning sun turns silver on the pointed twigs.
I have woken from the sleep of ages
and I am not sure
if I am really seeing, or dreaming,
or simply astonished
walking toward sunrise
to have stumbled into the garden
where the stone was rolled from
the tomb of longing.
