Many Rivers

Meet Our Team

About Many Rivers

In 1987, David called the Library of Congress to register his first book of self-published poetry, Songs for Coming Home.

The woman on the other end of the phone asked him the name of the publisher. “How about Four Seasons Press,” David replied. “Four Seasons Press!?!” the woman shouted, “You can’t call it Four Seasons Press! Everything is Four Seasons! Four Seasons this, Four Seasons that …”. A bit stunned, David replied hesitantly, “Well, how about Many Rivers Press?”

Since then, Many Rivers has grown as the vehicle for bringing David’s work into the world. Our small, dedicated team publishes all of David’s poetry and books of essays under the Many Rivers Press imprint. We coordinate David’s events and walking tours, and his online offerings, including the popular Three Sundays Series. We support his speaking and the work of Invitas: The Institute for Conversational Leadership, along with day-to-day office operations.

In The Village by the Sea, resides a tiny but mighty team who do a little bit of this and quite a lot of that. All for the sake of knowing that it takes but a single line of poetry to forever change a life.
