David has been traveling and leading tours for most of his adult life, beginning with a time as a naturalist guide in The Galapagos Islands. In the 1980's and 1990's, he led groups of intrepid travelers to the Himalayas, Bhutan and the Greek Islands before settling on the landscapes of his ancestors: Ireland and the English Lake District. In 2007, through a collaboration with Lori DeMori, a wonderful food writer, gardener and cuoco straordinario, he began leading trips through the hills, vineyards and olive groves of Tuscany.
The English Lake District is currently on hiatus. In spring of 2013, he will return to explore the Galapagos, running two trips of one week each, and we intend to continue this trip in the years ahead.
The trips are an unforgettable experience combining David's talks and poetry, breathtaking hikes, superb meals and an opportunity to meet extraordinary people deeply committed to the place they call home.
