A Weekend on Monterey Bay with David Whyte

Join David Whyte for his latest thoughts and his latest work, and for an invitation to step into both the very centre and very new edges of your own life, where poetry becomes a clarifying force and a companion to deeper courage. Join David Whyte for a weekend on Monterey Bay

David will explore the daily practices and wilder imaginative energies that help us shape a more articulate, more generous life – one capable of meeting the world with presence, humour, and a renewed sense of invitation.

Through language, story, and the asking of deeper and more beautiful questions, this gathering always offers a way to re-awaken the senses, re-inhabit the body, and rediscover the quiet, sustaining foundations that make a creative and wholehearted life possible.

Participants have always experienced this short retreat as a marvellous tonic for any forgetful, stressed or beleaguered life: the breezes off the bay, the sound of the waves on Asilomar Beach, the gorgeous wooden chapel building in which we gather; the bonhomie amongst like-minded seekers, all conspire to make this an unforgettable weekend.

David will be joined for the weekend by special guests Owen and Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin. Owen and Mícheál are singers, musicians and brothers from Ireland. From an esteemed musical family, they are master performers of ancient and modern traditions of singing and poetry, from Latin Gregorian chant to Irish language pre Christian spiritual and traditional song.
