I've been participating in Three Sundays for awhile now. Your work has shown me how to "hold a different conversation" with life and has helped me move through grief to find my self again. Thank you.

‘The Soul’s Authority’ is a phrase I heard in passing this summer in Ireland. A very short sentence, but one that went right through me like a knife, as if I was suddenly made ready for what might lie behind the invitation in those three words and the future they suddenly seemed to open up.
The phrase seemed to both identify and immediately activate a central ground of knowing inside me, located at a very fierce centre of my body. It gave me a literal ground to stand on but also opened a clear path to the future. It is a phrase that has echoed down the centuries in all forms of paraphrases and in many different religious, artistic and contemplative traditions. I just happened to hear it in this form when I was ripe for a deeper understanding.
It speaks to the centre inside us but also the way we can make a path to that centre. It speaks to the way that centre lies in all of us as a still point that amazingly, can also order and organise all the restless complexities of the world that surround us. It is a star of navigation, inviting us on into the as yet unknown world.
We can look at the soul as the faculty of belonging in each of us, that part of us that is trying to belong to the world in the largest way it can. The bravery of the soul is often disturbing to the way our surface life is arranged, so shifting our identity from surface to depth, from complexity to radical simplicity, from immediate barriers to a guiding star beyond, is a necessary part of the journey.
Three Sundays in September
Join David Whyte for Three Sundays in September for a journey into ‘the soul’s authority’, the blessed inner star of navigation that carries the ability to draw us through all difficulties, appearing and disappearing, but often shining brightly, even through the clouded skies of our everyday confusion.
The sessions take place September 13th, 20th and 27th, 2026.
Registration is open until January 20, 2027; the session recordings and resources will be available to all registered attendees until February 1, 2027.
Live session webinars take place via Zoom and include 60 minutes of David speaking followed by a 10-15 minute Q&A period.

During each session, we will open the Zoom Q&A column where anyone can submit a comment or question. David will take select questions during the last fifteen minutes of the session.
Due to the limited time, we cannot answer every question live, but David does enjoy reading all the comments after the session is closed, and on occasion is able to answer additional questions there.
